PitchPerfect A violin intonation trainer. Open a MIDI file, play along, and every note on the score is coloured by how in tune you played it: | colour | meaning | |---|---| | green | pitch perfect (within *Green within*, default ± 5 ¢ of the target) | | yellow → orange | increasingly off | | red | half a tone (100 cents) or more off (*Red from* setting) | | grey ? | no clear pitch was detected for that note | The deviation in cents is printed under every note; hover a note for the target and played frequency in Hz. At most **2 bars** are shown at a time, with at most **2 notes at once** (double stops; if a MIDI chord has more, the top two are kept). Single notes are measured with the YIN pitch detector, refined on the spectral peak (sub-cent accuracy). For double stops each note is searched for separately in the spectrum around its written pitch. The attack of each note is ignored and the median over the rest of the note is used, so a bow change or finger landing doesn't spoil the result.
